Keep It Fun
An often overlooked aspect of training that will guarantee its inclusion in your daily life is simple - keep it fun. If you’re not enjoying your workouts or you don’t look forward to them, then it won’t be sustainable.
At Crossfit Birch Bender, nothing is repetitive. We use the tools not “normally” used by most conventional gyms, and the format of a workout constantly changes to keep it fun, interesting, and effective.
We also offer kids classes starting at 3 and up to 13 years old - before they enter an adult class at the age of 14.
Class Programming
Crossfit Birch Bender utilizes many types of training in our group class programming including HIIT, Strongman, OCR, functional fitness and strength training. Our workouts are designed for all age groups, body types and experience levels.

…In the barn! Yes, we are now offering YOGA in our century barn. Class sizes are kepy small and intimate at 8. Flow and Restorative yoga will be lead by our 15+ year veteran Katie B.

Interval Training
(HIIT)
High intensity interval training is a great way to get the heart-rate up while burning fat and building muscle. We can program various movements and time domains to challenge you no matter your fitness level or experience.
Obstacle Course (OCR)
Here, we use various sandbags for strength training and endurance exercises. The use of tires, sledge hammers, and pulleys/hoists help build the capacity to do other movements like the pullup, rope climb, and OCR racing.
Functional Bird Watching
No, not really. But birds are pretty awesome. We will use the miles of trails on the Birch Bender farm to host trail walks for our members and their families.
Kids Classes
The kids class program offers two age groups (3-6 and 7-13) the opportunity to disconnect from technology and engage with eachother on our farm by being active over an hour-and-a-half timeframe.

Strong(wo)man
Test yourself by lifting, carrying, or holding a weight or object that is challenging for you! You may surprise yourself with what you can accomplish.
Our experienced coaches will help you determine the right approach to make sure you’re getting not only a safe workout but an effective one, too.
Functional Fitness
AKA CrossFit - every tool listed in our “class” section will be used to give you the best workout possible. It is constantly varied (times, movements, rest periods, rep schemes, etc.), functional movements performed at high intensity. A staple, of course, at Birch Bender!
Strength Training
All of the fitness “tools of the trade” can be used to build strength and stability, balance, speed, and co-ordination - but it’s important to have a base of strength moving your own bodyweight. This is why core strength and bodyweight movements are a prime choice in our programming. This competency will lead to fewer injuries outside of the gym when you’re applying your new found health and wellness to your favourite sport or leisure activity.
